Here at Mouchel we look just as much to the future as we do to the here and now. That’s why we’re passionate about making our projects environmentally sound. Take the Sandbrook Community Primary School in Rochdale, which we designed and project managed with a clear focus on sustainability. Sandbrook incorporates renewable technologies throughout – and serves as a model for other schools in the area.

The school was designed as a single-story building to take full advantage of natural light and ventilation. It has a south-facing front façade that provides solar shading, as well as harnessing power from the sun to provide heating, lighting and hot water. But it’s not just energy that has been renewed at Sandbrook but the pupils’ prospects, too. The range of innovative design features makes for an inspiring and motivational environment to learn in.
